Competitive Tryouts
Fall 2015

Fall 2015 Tryout Schedule:
Initial tryouts for the Fall 2015 season will be held on May 19th, 20th and 21st from 6-7:30/8pm.

Players must attend a minimum of two sessions.

Age:  Competitive tryouts are open to players aged 10-18 years; age is based on player's age as of July 31, 2015.

Bring:  Water, shin guards, ball and appropriate shoes.

Check-in:  All players must check in before participating in tryouts.

Attention new players:  If you DID NOT play club soccer locally within the last 10 months, you will be required to register and pay $8 registration fee before you allowed to enter the field.  Thank you.

What to expect after tryouts:

Within a few weeks after tryouts, coaches will contact all players to let them know whether they made the team.

  • What happens if you don't make the team? Remember that these are try-outs. If you do not make the team this go around, please do not be too discouraged. Many of our teams do not fill their complete roster limit at this time and will leave open positions on their roster so that they can have room to add more players right before the season begins. Practice, attend summer training camps, and contact us at the end of the summer to inquire about late tryouts for the team. GPSA also offers recreational play for our U11-U12 (sometimes U13) players. There are no tryouts for recreational play.

How much does competitive soccer cost? The competitive registration fee for Fall 2014/Spring 2015 is $185. This fee covers both the Fall and Spring play. Competitive players will also be responsible for purchasing a uniform for $90. The current uniform has been in use since Fall 2012 and will be replaced Fall 2014.

When will we have to pay? Payment is due in full by August 1st. Any payment arrangements must be made with the Club Registrar and not with a coach or other Board member.

When does the Fall season start? Games will not start until some time in September depending on which circuit your team is playing. It is up to each coach as to when they begin practicing. Many competitive coaches will practice throughout the summer with flexibility given to players' summer vacations and other activities. Some may opt to do a tournament(s) prior to the first seasonal games. Most coaches start practice in earnest sometime in August. Your coach will give you this information.

ATTENTION!! Competitive Soccer is for serious soccer players who LOVE soccer! When playing competitive players are expected to make every attempt to show up for all practices and games.
